Enjoy ‘Nature’s Candy’ This Valentine’s Day with JAMBAR

Written by Julia Maxwell

Valentine’s Day is all about sweetness, and what a better way to celebrate than nature’s own candy – fruit! Instead of indulging in processed treats, nourish your body with the natural sweetness of real fruit, packed with flavor and essential nutrients. At JAMBAR, we believe that wholesome ingredients should taste just as good as they make you feel, which is why our bars, packed with all-natural fruit, are the perfect way to show yourself some love on Valentine’s Day.

The Power of Fruit in JAMBAR
Fruit has long been considered ‘nature’s candy’. Not only is fruit naturally delicious, it is also packed with essential nutrients, disease-fighting antioxidants, fiber, and complex carbohydrates. The high percentage of real dried fruit in our recipes make JAMBARs unique.  Our three vegan fruit flavors - Musical Mango, Jammin’ Jazzleberry and Tropical Trio - each contain between 11-23% dried mango, berries, banana, pineapple, and coconut. By adding in ancient grains, nut butters, and natural sweeteners, JAMBARs take fruit from a small sweet bite to a satiating snack that will fuel your day.

Our Fruits
The variety of fruit in JAMBARs offer an array of different flavors and nutritional benefits.

  • Mango is packed with vitamin C, which boosts immunity, enhances iron absorption, and promotes cell growth and repair. It is also a good source of vitamin A and vitamin E, which promote eye and skin health. Mango contains amylase, a digestive enzyme that converts carbohydrates into sugars, allowing your body to absorb and utilize the fruit’s nutrients.

  • Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries contain some of the highest concentrations of antioxidants found in any food, including anthocyanins, ellagic acid, and resveratrol. These plant compounds have been shown to help protect your body’s cells against free radical damage, reducing risk of cardiovascular disease, inflammation disorders, and various cancers. 1,2

  • Bananas are high in potassium, a mineral that helps regulate blood pressure, supports healthy nerve and muscle function, and regulates the body’s fluid and electrolyte balance.

  • Pineapples contain the proteolytic enzyme bromelain, which has digestive, anti-inflammatory, and immune-boosting properties. Pineapples also contain vitamin B6, which supports healthy neurological functions, metabolic health, and hormonal balance.

  • Coconuts boast high amounts of healthy fats called medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which have been shown to promote healthy cholesterol levels and reduce risk of diabetes.3,4 Because MCTs are absorbed by the body rapidly and used for energy, they have also been shown to enhance exercise endurance in athletes.5

We know it’s hard to pick just one favorite fruit flavor of JAMBAR. Luckily, enjoying an assortment of flavors ensures a variety of plant-based nutrients that will keep you jammin’.

Creating the Perfect Mix
While fruits are superfoods, they often won’t cut it on their own when you are in need of a wholesome snack. This is due to the fact that fruits lack high amounts of healthy fats (except for coconuts!) and protein, which are key macronutrients your body needs to feel satiated. This is where our ancient grains and nut butters shine. They provide protein, fats, and additional fiber that slow down the absorption of the fruit’s sugar within your body. This process prevents the sugar from quickly spiking your blood sugar levels, which can lead to an energy crash and burn, leaving you feeling lethargic.

A Sweet Way to Fuel Your Adventure
This Valentine’s Day, treat yourself to something naturally sweet and energizing. Whether you’re hitting the trails or just need a wholesome pick-me-up, JAMBARs deliver the perfect balance of taste, nutrition, and long-lasting energy. Love your body and fuel your adventures with the goodness of real fruit—nature’s sweetest gift!
