JAMBAR had the exciting opportunity to team up with our partners Gelson's Market and Equator Coffees for an unforgettable Saturday event this past September: Gelson's Ride with Ali Tetrick. This gathering brought together local riders and elite cyclists from the community of Santa Barbara, with JAMBAR athlete and Pro-Cyclist Ali Tetrick leading the charge.
Kicking Off the Day with JAMBAR & Equator Coffees
The day started with an energizing early morning pre-ride event from 8 - 9am at Gelson's Market in Santa Barbara. Attendees were welcomed with JAMBARS and Equator Coffees Cold Brew. It was the perfect fuel for a few hours of cycling along the Santa Barbara coast. It was also a great chance for local cyclists to enjoy good conversation with Pro Cyclist and legendary HOF Gravel Rider Ali Tetrick before heading out on the ride with her. Ali shared some highlights of the route they would take and then told everyone to load up their kits with JAMBAR and get ready to roll!
The Ride: Scenic and Coastal
At 9am, the ride officially began, with Ali guiding participants through an incredible route that highlighted the natural beauty of Santa Barbara. The first five miles were the most challenging, with a steep climb up the ridge through Mission Canyon into Sycamore Canyon. But as tough as it was, the shared camaraderie and breathtaking views made the effort worth it. Riders were rewarded with a scenic tour of the foothills and the beauty of Montecito, before descending into Santa Barbara Harbor. There were signs of Megan and Harry when rolling through Montecito (haha) but we know they wished they were pedaling with the peloton! After the Harbor, the riders continued on more coastline and roads lined with palm trees and great views.
At the end of the ride Ali shared “What a day! We had a great morning ride taking in the stunning views of Santa Barbara – lots of miles with JAMBARS and smiles abound! I started my day with a Jammin’ Jazzleberry and had a trusty Malt Nut Melody loaded into my jersey pocket. It’s so special to be able to meet local cyclists and seeing other pro riders in the area. The best thing about cycling is there is a tight-knit community wherever you go. This ride was no exception – a great group of people of all ages and abilities coming together. I am already looking forward to the next one!”.
