A groundbreaking new tennis event is coming to the Bay Area, and JAMBAR is all in! We’re proud to be the official energy bar of the inaugural Golden Gate Open Tennis Tournament, which will be held at Stanford’s Taube Tennis Center from August 12-19. What differentiates this event is the fact that it sets a new standard for gender equity in tennis by being the first combined 125-level event to offer equal prize money to men and women competitors in Northern California.
As a company founded and owned by a female athlete, JAMBAR salutes Mighty Tennis, the producer of the Golden Gate Open, and its dedication to creating an equitable future in professional tennis, as well as its goal of empowering current and future generations to build a sport in which all athletes are celebrated.
The Golden Gate Open is the first ever combined ATP/WTA Men’s and Women’s tournament in Northern California. A Challenger event with a purse of more than $160K, the Open is attracting rising stars of professional tennis, as well as iconic players launching comebacks. ATP and WTA players from around the world will be participating.
“As a huge fan and a player of the sport, it’s so exciting to see this caliber of tennis coming to the Bay Area, and especially the Stanford campus, where my daughter ran track and cross country,” said JAMBAR Founder Jennifer Maxwell. “The Golden Gate Open has the potential to become one of the premier tennis events in the West, and JAMBAR is thrilled to help fuel athletes and fans.”
Players and spectators alike will get the chance to try JAMBARs - look for samples at the Player Lounge, VIP Area, Fan Zone and the Gender Equity Panel event. The bars’ digestibility, great taste and texture make them a perfect match for racquet sport athletes. As an instructor from Colorado shared with us, “I always keep a supply of JAMBARs in my tennis bag. They are the perfect pick-me-up between classes, and I love how they don’t crumble or melt.”
Tickets for the tournament are available now - we hope to see you there!
